Charlbury Gardens

Three varied gardens in the centre of this large Cotswold village, in the context of traditional stone houses. New for 2018, Clover Patch, a ½ acre garden with a newly formed cutting garden to the front; a small fruit, vegetable and propagating area with raised beds leading to lawns, a water garden and shady woodland area to the rear. Gothic House with ⅓ acre walled garden designed with sculpture and colour in mind. New area of planted squares replaces lawn. False perspective, pleached lime walk, trellis, terracotta containers. The Priory Garden has 1 acre of formal terraced topiary gardens with Italianate features. Foliage colour schemes, shrubs, parterres with fragrant plants, old roses, water features, sculpture and inscriptions aim to produce a poetic, wistful atmosphere. Arboretum of over 3 acres borders the River Evenlode and incl wildlife garden and pond.

Sunday 10 June (2 - 5pm). Combined admission £5.00, children free. Home-made teas in St Mary's Church.
