Walton Poor (Surrey) Opening 14th/15th October – Plant Sale
Fri 13 Oct 2017
Walton Poor is opening this weekend from 12 to 5pm on Saturday (14th) and Sunday (15th). This tranquil, almost secretive, 4 acre mostly wooded garden in North Downs AONB, shows the contrast between colourful shrubs and mature trees. Paths wind through the garden to a pond, hideaway dell and herb garden, planted to show the use of aromatic plants and shrubs.
The nursery will be closing after this weekend and all plants are being sold to raise money for the National Garden Scheme.
Note: Greendene Road, leading to Crocknorth Road has a “Road closed” sign when entering from the A246. The road is only closed from the bottom of Crocknorth Road and it is possible to turn left (where we will put a sign) up to Walton Poor House, one mile from this junction.
