Sheffield Gardens, Yorkshire – Sunday 14th July
A lovely opportunity to visit three inspiring, yet individual, gardens designed and owned by members of the Landscape Architecture Department, University of Sheffield. Opening on Sunday 14 July 2019 (11am -6pm). Combined adm £10, chd free. Homemade teas will be available to purchase at Bramblewood Cottage and 68 Tasker Road.
The admission ticket includes two city centre gardens, approx. 1 mile/5 minutes drive apart; and one garden located at Bradfield, 6 miles from Sheffield. A map will be supplied on booking. On-street parking in the area.
At the forefront of current ideas in naturalistic planting design, creating sustainable landscapes, and gardening for a changing climate, the Landscape Architecture Departments’s work included the Olympic Park, Pictorial Meadows and has come to be known as ‘The Sheffield School’ of planting design.
Bramblewood Cottage, a one acre garden six miles from Sheffield centre has areas of naturalistic perennial planting, large log-pile sculptures and designed annual and perennial meadows, rain gardens and bioswales. Click here for a map.
