Music in the Garden at Hazelby House, Hampshire – Friday, 21st June
Friday 21st June, 6.30pm – 9.00pm
Tickets £35. Entrance by pre-booked tickets only.
Our midsummer garden party will be opened by National Garden Scheme president and nation’s favourite baker, Mary Berry and you will have exclusive access to explore the exceptional 12-acre private garden, serenaded by soul singer Natasha Watts and the East Woodhay Silver Band. As you wander through the garden you can enjoy chilled Provence rosé wine served from magnums and a selection of delicious canapes.
The garden at Hazelby is one of the most distinguished in the region, not least because it was originally created by Martin Lane-Fox who lived here in the 1980s and 1990’s. He created the classically formal structure and planting which the Hungerfords have built on in exhilarating style, opening the garden up to a new lake and adding a range of superb ornaments including works by David Harber and William Pye.
This is a rare opportunity to enjoy a truly remarkable garden on a summer’s evening.
Natasha Watts, a multi award winning singer-songwriter who burst onto the UK Soul music scene back in 2009. Natasha became the support act for Motown legend, Gladys Knight on her UK tour in 2013 and has subsequently toured worldwide with her own shows, releasing well over 100 tracks.
The local East Woodhay Silver Band with their repertoire of swing, jazz and old time favourites.
Another highlight of the event will be the live auction conducted by veteran auctioneer Nick Bonham, for which exclusive lots include a private tour of world-renowned garden designer, Tom Stewart-Smith’s Herefordshire garden, and a Grand Tier box for 12 at the Last Night of the Proms as well as a silent auction with a further mouth-watering selection of lots.
There will also be a plant sale – so having been inspired by the exceptional garden of Hazelby House you can buy a selection of beautiful home-grown plants for your own garden. All proceeds go to the National Garden Scheme.
Raffle tickets are £10 per ticket and there will be ticket sellers circulating though the evening. The raffle will be drawn at 8.30pm and winning tickets will be displayed as you exit the gardens. View all the prizes here.
Not all areas of the 12-acre garden are fully accessible. There are several different steps and the paths are either grass or gravel and so not suitable for wheelchairs. Every effort will be made to accommodate mobility requirements but if you have specific concerns please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all our sponsors for their generous support of our Music in the Garden event. All proceeds raised from the evening will go to the National Garden Scheme to help fund vital nursing and health charities.
Please note we cannot offer refunds or exchanges once tickets are purchased. Please see our events ticket policy for full details.Ticketed Gardens
