Ellicar Gardens, Doncaster is opening for The National Garden Scheme once again this year on Sunday 17 September.

Home to Will Murch (horticulturalist), Sarah Murch (Natural Pool and Garden Designer) and their 5 children, this award-winning, 5-acre garden features an abundance of late season colour, with perennials and grasses at their peak in September.

A haven for garden and wildlife enthusiasts, visitors can enjoy Ellicar’s naturalistic borders, overflowing with beautiful plants, birds and bees. The garden opening is also a fantastic opportunity to explore Ellicar’s renowned natural pool, with water lilies still in flower and crystal clear water attracting swallows and unusual dragonflies – a perfect spot to sit and relax with a cup of tea and slice of homemade cake!

There’s plenty of fun in store for families with the school garden and willow maze to explore, plus a whole host of exciting children’s activities. Participate in a garden quiz, follow a trail, hold a chick or even feed an apple to the pig who does tricks!

Sarah’s menagerie of rare breed pets are also popular amongst youngsters and adults alike, including a golden Guernsey goat herd, native ponies, pigs, puppies and poultry. A gardener’s market with plants for sale, plus a garden raffle will also be held on the day.

Admission includes entry to Honeysuckle Cottage, Gringley on the Hill, and refreshments will be served throughout the day.
