Garden visiting isn’t just for the Summer months. Throughout November and December there are a number of gorgeous gardens to visit, where you can find Diwali celebrations, light displays and beautiful wintery scenes. Grab your opportunity to wrap up warm and get outdoors, at one of our Winter garden jewels.
Lawsbrook, Shillingstone Dorset – Open Sunday 4th November 10am – 4pm
Celebrating its 10th year of opening for the National Garden Scheme, Lawsbrook showcases intense autumn hues in November. With more than 130 different tree species spread over 6 acres in a garden founded in 1959, you can be assured of a relaxed and friendly day out, with lovely opportunities for family walks.
Townsend Farmhouse, Bedford, Bedfordshire – Saturday 10th November – 4pm – 7pm
Townsend Farmhouse are hosting a special Diwali evening opening on the 10th November with diya lamps, flower rangoli and sweetmeats. Expect a magical evening of light in the garden.
42 Falconer Road, Watford, Hertfordshire – Saturday 10th November 6.30pm – 8pm
42 Falconer Road is an enchanting, magical and unusual Victorian style space with an intriguing selection of birdcages. Their winter viewing incorporates fairyland lighting, and is an event for all ages.
Sandpiper, Somersham, Cambridgeshire – Friday 7th, Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December 5pm – 9pm
Sandpiper’s Winter open evening provides an enchanted evening view of a garden full of nostalgia. The inspired creative lighting demonstrates the beauty and architecture of plants and trees in winter. A real winter tonic. Pre-booking essential for this garden.
