#NationalGardeningWeek – Be inspired at our allotment and kitchen gardens

The National Garden Scheme opens gardens throughout England and Wales from stately acres to urban rooftops. Kitchen gardens and allotments are a favourite too! If #NationalGardeningWeek has inspired you why not visit a fabulous grow your own space and maybe pick up some tips from our knowledgeable garden owners too.
Set in 5 acres the allotments comprise 60 plots growing fine vegetables, fruit, flowers and herbs. There is a small orchard and wild flower area and a community space adjacent. Grass paths run along the site. Several plots will be open to walk round. There will be a seed and plant stall. Light refreshments are available.

Delightfully located on the edge of the village, overlooking the fields and countryside, the Satin Lane allotments are a community treasure. Established in 1925, the land accommodates 47 beautiful individual plots. The site gently slopes down to the fields, and plot size and shapes vary substantially. A charismatic array of homespun fences have sprouted, adorned with climbing vegetable and flowers.
Features and Attractions
Several of the plots have been worked over generations, where third generation “allotmenteers” are still diligently working them today. Many refreshments offered on the day will be made using produce grown on-site.

The Pebworth Allotments have only been in existence a few years and residents have lovingly tended to them. They are smart and productive! Some of the Allotmentiers are real characters. Do visit and have chat, they have a wealth of knowledge.

Set on the edge of Repton with lovely views over the Derbyshire countryside. There are about 20 plots growing many types of vegetables and flowers too, a Community Garden is a new addition.

Refreshments: Home-made teas at 10 Chestnut Way (both dates) & Woodend Cottage (21st July in aid of St. Wystan’s Church).
