More about Moore Blatch
Enter this south facing 1 acre walled garden through the grand Georgian building (c.1765) now housing the busy Private Client section of Moore Blatch Solicitors. Arrive on the terrace where you can take in the vista of the croquet lawn, framed by 2 acer plat. Crimson King, flanked by gravel paths, herbaceous and shrub borders, with further views over the rest of the garden and, in the distance, the hills of the Isle of Wight. A blue wisteria clothes the wall behind you.
The garden is laid out semi-formally at the northern end becoming more relaxed as you progress away from the building. Here you will find box hedges lining vegetable gardens, with produce which is boxed up for partners once or twice a week. Matching parterre areas with quirky topiary caterpillars, various other shapes, and a 6ft face sculpted in bay laurel. Situated at the furthest end of the garden are two polytunnels, soft fruit and a large composting area.
In June the garden borders are full of glorious roses and early mixed herbaceous plants.
Why not come on the Saturday and combine your trip with a visit to Lymington’s thriving Saturday Street Market, after which you can have tea and cake away from the hustle and bustle in the relaxed calm, peace and quiet of this beautiful garden, and enjoy a browse in our plentiful plant stall.
