No. 45 was originally part of the Blackwell Hill Hall Estate when many of the trees were planted. Since 2000, the overgrown garden has been extensively redesigned and replanted organically. A wildlife pond with a waterfall and bog garden provide an environment for moisture loving plants. New herbaceous borders are planted with a succession of colourful plants and shrubs such as Camellias. The Mediterranean and Herb gardens have been created from a former overgrown rose garden and vegetable plot and contain many unusual aromatic plants. A Victorian-style greenhouse is used to grow tender vegetables and plants. An enormous Wellingtonia dominates the skyline from the SW and in the woods by the river are many ancient beeches, daffodils and bluebells. There are extensive lawns, a gazebo for enjoying views of the garden and patios where many plants are grown in containers.
