English Heritage garden of historic interest. The house and gardens were owned by the Sandford family up till 1902, after which time it was let, finally becoming a residential care home for the elderly in 1940 (one of the oldest in the county). The gardens as we see them today were completed during the victorian period.
A garden tour, approx 45mins, will be conducted by Justin Cole, Head Gardener, at 2pm. Visitors can also explore freely using leaflets available. Snowdrops at Feb opening. Autumn tree colours and sweet chestnuts for picking in Oct.
