More about Ellicar Gardens

Ellicar Gardens is a vibrant, 5 acre family garden. Owners Will and Sarah Murch have set about creating a naturalistic garden that is full of colour, texture and wildlife, yet low maintenance and easy to look after.
With sweeping borders and flower gardens spilling into wildflower meadows, within a framework of specimen trees and shrubs, the garden is as beautiful in winter as the height of summer. Borders overflowing with new perennials and grasses, attract butterflies and bees. The garden is a haven for wild birds, with 23 species on the Red and Amber Birds of Conservation Concern List thriving here.
At its heart lies our beautiful Natural Pool - a sky mirror and magnet for wildlife. Visitors will enjoy relaxing beside the crystal clear water, watching swallows dip, dragon flies dart across the surface and if lucky, our resident kingfisher.
Winter is a particularly beautiful season here with our Winter Garden full of hellebores and fragrant shrubs, and the rest of the gardens a tonal tapestry of seed heads and grasses, planted in swathes amongst stands of coloured cornus and willows and spectacularly back lit with the low winter sun.
Wildlife lovers and garden enthusiasts alike will enjoy exploring the gardens and there is plenty of fun for children and families with a willow maze, school garden and friendly rare breed pets.
