June and John welcome you to our Hanging Hosta Garden. This small garden is packed with many varieties of plants, but the collection of over 1500 hosta cultivars is one of the largest in England. An unusual feature is the hanging hostas where plants are displayed at eye level to give a wonderful tapestry of foliage and colour. Enjoy one of the largest collections of hostas in England displayed in a variety of garden settings. The informal cottage garden features day lilies, Oriental and Asiatic and species lilies. There is also a colourful display of hostas and their companion plants which give a contrast of texture and height. In the Islamic garden, evergreens and hostas combine to create a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. The waterfall and stream garden has a display of large hostas against the background of taller plant varieties. There are ferns, and varieties of rheum, persicaria and rodgersia. The height and visual impact of the planting give visitors an impression of being lost in a jungle surrounded by a riot of colours.
