Trematon Castle

Property of Duchy of Cornwall since the Conquest, Trematon is a perfect miniature motte and bailey castle. On R Lynher estuary, '... one of the superb views of Cornwall .... all the more romantic for being still a private residence' (John Betjeman). Julian and Isabel Bannerman have begun to create a garden playing on its pre-Raphaelite glories, wild flowers, orchard, woodland, scented borders, seaside and exotic planting.
