Duxford Gardens

Duxford, Cambridge

Five gardens, one new to the NGS, of very different sizes and characters. The river Cam flows through two of them, including the Mill, which has historical associations and 11 acres of mature gardens. The garden in the Biggen has some unusual planting and leads down to the river. The garden at 2 Green Street is a charming small and colourful garden and Bustlers Cottage has an acre of traditional Cambridgeshire cottage garden including roses, herbaceous borders, vegetable garden and fruit trees. Opening for the first time, the garden at 16 Ickleton Rd is an ever-evolving, “work in progress” garden, with experimental planting that attempts to take advantage of the sunny aspect and well drained soil. A plantaholic’s garden.
