More about The Old Rectory

This garden is planned for year round interest and visitors are always welcome. It is beautifully situated with good views, a rambling cottage garden on different levels, falling naturally into separate areas, with changing effects and atmosphere. Steps and paths lead you on and seats are well-placed to appreciate special views and vistas, or to relax and enjoy the peace. Wildlife is encouraged and the birds, butterflies, bees, mice and voles, amphibians and grass snakes reward us with their presence. There are small ponds with bog areas, a dry border, which replaced former tarmac, small orchard. productive vegetable garden and greenhouse. Wild flower meadow, pond and woodland walk are nearby. Children welcome and have space to run (and hide), dogs on leads, teas by arrangement, easy parking. Steps and uneven ground mean that access for wheelchairs is very limited.
