Old fashioned cottage garden with rhododendrons, herbaceous borders with candelabra primulas, cottage garden perennial flowers and herbs also a plant nursery selling a wide variety of these plus wild flowers. Small ornamental fish pond and an orchard. Lovely views of the surrounding countryside and plenty of seats available to relax and enjoy tea and cakes.

A garden planted with wildlife in mind lots of native wild flower plants on sale to visitors.

The garden at Gamesley Fold is planted to be in keeping with the property which dates back to around 1650. Lots of native wild flowers, and trees to attract butterflies and birds are closely planted, shrubs and herbs mix in to give colour and variety from early spring to late summer. Features include a sheltered enclosed garden where more tender plants grow, a vegetable garden and a newly planted orchard. Garden with specimen trees, shrubs and perennials is developing well with a shelter belt of a mixed native hedgerow. All the wild flowers and cottage garden plants in the nursery have been grown from seed and a good selection are always available for sale to visitors to raise funds for The National Gardens Scheme Charitable Trust. Lovely views of the hills and countryside surrounding this garden are another bonus for visitors. Featured in Gorgeous Gardens, Gardeners World and many magazines, we hope this garden will appeal to visitors of all tastes. We have sheep, fan-tailed doves and an aviary so please no dogs.
