More about Gamesley Fold Cottage

The garden at Gamesley Fold is planted to be in keeping with the property which dates back to around 1650. Lots of native wild flowers, and trees to attract butterflies and birds are closely planted, shrubs and herbs mix in with those from other countries in an informal way to give colour and variety from early spring to late summer. Features include a sheltered enclosed garden where more tender plants grow, a vegetable garden and a newly planted orchard. Garden with specimen trees, shrubs and perennials is developing well with a shelter belt of a mixed native hedgerow. All the wild flowers have been grown from seed and a good selection of native plants are always available for sale to visitors to raise funds for The National Gardens Scheme Charitable Trust. Lovely views of the hills and countryside surrounding this garden are another bonus for visitors. Featured in Gorgeous Gardens, Gardeners World and many magazines, we hope this garden will appeal to visitors of all tastes. We have sheep, fan-tailed doves and an aviary so please no dogs.
