A garden with a long history of enthusiastic plantsmanship. From the Rose garden, wander past mixed herbaceous borders and lawns to discover the Secret Garden enclosed by Camellias. Follow the grass paths past the herb and kitchen garden and rose pergola into the Orchard and Bee garden, bordered at its south east end with active bee hives. From there you descend into the Dell where a series of paths, some quite steep (be careful!) guide you around the narrow dry valley garden, planted with many fine trees and shrubs shaded and protected by enormous ancient Oaks . The top path skirts around the edge of the Dell to afford a bird’s eye view of the plants below before the land falls away to reveal a vista of fields and hedgerows stretching to Westbury and the edge of Salisbury Plain.
