A very cheerful and colourful small garden with the wow factor. The beds are planted mainly with herbaceous perennials but annuals are strategically placed to add more colour. The large variety of plants attracts many bees and butterflies. Many of the plants are grown from seed or cuttings. Even the odd vegetable such as beetroot, lettuce, carrot or onions are planted to fill the odd gaps or when the postage stamp sized vegetable plot is filled to capacity. There is a lawn to set off the herbaceous beds and further down is a gravel area which houses a variety of pots in which are grown mainly vegetables. In front of the garden room is another collection of pots with an explosion of brightly coloured flowers. Sweet peppers, chilli peppers, aubergines and cucumbers are grown in the greenhouse along with a variety of tomatoes, including Sungold which won the cup at West Dean for the best tasting tomato. Pictured in preface of The Gardens of England book (2013). We are 100 yards from the beach and a ¼m from Titchfield Haven Nature Reserve.
