More about Beggars Knoll Chinese Garden
The garden is set on a steep chalk hillside with a beechwood as backdrop. The Chinese 'rooms' are separated by walls, hedges and gateways including a moongate. There are collections of Chinese viburnums and of podocarps, and there is a bamboo garden with its own pavilion.
Group visits by appointment include a free tour of the garden which lasts about 1 hour. Toilet facilities are available. Teas, by arrangement, are served outside on the lawn or, if the weather is inclement, in a conservatory which seats about 20 people.
