Leading UK wealth manager Rensburg Sheppards is to continue sponsorship of the National Gardens Scheme’s (NGS) The Yellow Book 2010 - the essential guide to the gardens in England and Wales opening for charity this year.
The aim of the NGS is to raise money for national nursing, caring and gardening charities through donations and other support by opening gardens of quality, character and interest to the public.
Rensburg Sheppards has sponsored the NGS since 1994 and during that time over £36 million has been raised for charity. More than 3,700 gardens - mostly privately owned - are featured in The Yellow Book and attract half a million visitors each year helping to raise almost £2.5 million.
Steve Elliott, Chief Executive of Rensburg Sheppards, said:
“It is a source of great satisfaction that our long term relationship with the NGS is enhancing their ability to raise significant amounts for charity. Only gardens that meet the exacting standards of the NGS are featured in the Yellow Book. Gardeners who make the grade should feel rightly proud of their gardening prowess and their dedication to helping such worthy causes.”
Commenting on the partnership Julia Grant, Chief Executive of NGS, added:
“I have no doubt that without the support of Rensburg Sheppards we could not have achieved such substantial growth in income to donate to our beneficiary charities. They have helped us develop The Yellow Book into a best selling garden book and also supported us to reach visitors in other ways through our comprehensive website listing and our free local booklets.”
