Hooray for the NGS! Emma Bridgewater’s flower mugs raise £30,000 for the NGS!

NGS is delighted to have received a donation of £30,000 from Emma Bridgewater
When Emma Bridgewater designed six mugs decorated with spring flowers last year, she decided that the NGS should benefit from their sales, too, as there is no organisation that she would rather be working with. Over the years she has taken a huge amount of pleasure from looking round other people’s gardens. She loves the sight of those distinctive yellow posters dotted around the country, which point the way to an easy afternoon looking round anything from a colourful cottage garden to an old-fashioned rectory garden to a busy farmhouse garden.

This year, Emma has designed a set of charming NEW small mugs to complement the half pint jugs, as well as plenty of new flower designs to keep the bunch fresh.

- Emma Bridgewater founded her business in 1985, three years later she met and married Matthew Rice.
- Everything about Emma Bridgewater pottery, from the clay to the designs of garden birds and flowers, is English through and through.
- Emma Bridgewater is the only large manufacturer that makes all its pottery in England – proudly contributing to Staffordshire’s heritage. It remains a family business and employs more than 100 people in Stoke-on-Trent.
- Emma Bridgewater pottery also holds its value remarkably well. Many pieces actually go up in price – in some cases reaching hundreds of pounds.
