Wonderful Woodpeckers!

Saturday 29th September

The place to be this autumn is ‘Wonderful Woodpeckers’.

The colours are stunning, the food is delicious and the welcome is warm. The garden is certainly one of the finest in Essex. In the mellow light of late September it delights all the senses, especially with the profusion of flowers in densely packed borders throughout the 1.5 acre country garden.

Woodpeckers in Essex

Borders with an exuberant mix of cottage garden favourites are enclosed within the formal constraints of yew and box hedges. Vibrant coloured dahlias and cannas, asters, sedums and other late flowering perennials, together with many ornamental grasses, are now in full flower.

Visitors can wander down the mown path past the shepherd’s hut and long border to the burgeoning vegetable garden, or linger in the orchard. Each part of the garden has its own personality, so why not make a visit to choose your favourite!
