The Garden Media Guild Photography Awards 2011

Marianne Majerus has won the title “Photographer of the Year 2011” awarded by the Garden Media Guild (UK).

The Garden Media Guild Awards celebrate the best in garden writing - including books, newspapers and magazines, photography, broadcasting, TV and radio. They are widely considered to be the garden media equivalent to the Oscars.

Photographers were invited to enter a portfolio of 8 published images from the preceeding twelve months. The category was judged on quality, diversity, technical ability and originality and the judges said Marianne’s portfolio ‘stood out above the rest for demonstrating a great use of natural light, and consistency in quality and technical diversity.’

Marianne, along with many of her colleagues who are professional garden photographers, has supported the National Gardens Scheme over a number of years by donating images for use in the Yellow Book and other publicity material, for which we are very grateful.
