Popular Cottage Garden Workshops To Grow in 2012

A series of monthly practical gardening workshops run on behalf of the  National Gardens Scheme (NGS)  in Norfolk  by Shirley Gilbert at Hill Cottage in Edinthorpe, Norfolk NR28 9SY have been a runaway success. There has been such demand that the workshops will be run again on one day each month during the whole of 2012. The workshops are designed to take participants through all aspects of the gardening year. They are also tailored to the needs of the individual and ideal for beginners. Each session runs from 10am to 4pm and costs £45 which includes lunch.

Shirley said ‘I am delighted participants this year have found the workshops helpful and I am sure that some will now have the confidence to develop their own gardens and open for the National Gardens Scheme in the  future!’

Fiona Black, County Organiser for the NGS in Norfolk said ‘I attended workshops  this year and came away with plenty of new skills and enjoyed exchanging ideas with other gardeners. I am also particularly pleased that the fees paid have helped contribute a valuable £2000 for the vital nursing and caring charities supported by the NGS’.

Other participants who attended have also commented on the workshops:
