NGS Gardens On ITV Central News Tonight
Television viewers in the ITV Central broadcast region will tonight (26th June) be able to follow presenter Lucy Kite as she visits a number of the gardens that open on behalf of The National Gardens Scheme.
Lucy says, ‘We've been tracking down a few hidden gems here in the Midlands including the ‘Magic Garden' in Wolverhampton. This is one of the smallest and most visited garden out of the 3,800 in the Scheme. It's full of sculptures, lanterns and artwork created by local students. The popularity of this garden means it's raised more than £32,000 for charity! We also found a garden actually called ‘Hidden Gem’ which sits behind a council house in Walsall and is overflowing with shrubs, flowers and wildlife! The couple who created it got busy with the garden when their children left home and now win awards for their masterpiece.’
Lucy will be introducing the feature live from Birmingham’s Botanical Garden which opened for The National Gardens Scheme earlier this year.
ITV Central News is broadcast between 6.00 and 6.30pm.
