Essex get their year underway with an opening at the historic Hedingham Castle on 9th Feb, which first opened for the NGS 85 years ago in 1927. A fantastic garden to visit and a great way to start the new season!
A clear sign that winter is coming to an end is the welcome sight of a carpet of snowdrops. One of toughest and most reliable of garden plants, it is guaranteed to lift the spirits. The NGS in Norfolk has four gardens opening in February and early March where you can see snowdrops at their best.
When the first snowdrops start to appear you know winter is finally coming to an end. So what better way to celebrate the change in seasons than by visiting one of many NGS gardens that will be open over the coming months.
The very first garden openings for the NGS begin in February. Visiting Kent gardens in early spring is a great way to get outdoors, so wrap up warm, pack your wellies and plan a great day out!
