Hampton Court Palace Tours for 2010

During 2010 there are four exclusive evening tours of the gardens at Hampton Court Palace in aid of The National Gardens Scheme

The National Gardens Scheme, in association with the Historic Royal Palaces, is delighted to announce a series of four exclusive evening tours of the gardens at Hampton Court Palace during summer 2010.

Hampton Court Palace

Hampton Court Palace, next to the River Thames, is one of the Finest examples of a royal palace in Europe. Henry VIII was responsible for a massive improvement and building phase in the Palace’s history which he commenced after Thomas Wolsey had passed ownership to him in 1514. The next major phase of development took place during the reign of William and Mary who wanted a palace that would rival Versailles. The pre-eminent architect of the day, Sir Christopher Wren, was commissioned to design and oversee the building of the new royal palace.

Such grand royal residences demanded gardens of high standing. Successive generations of garden designers and gardeners have left their mark on the landscape. It is in these impressive gardens that the four exclusive NGS garden tours take place.

The four NGS tours will take place in the evening, after both the Palace and gardens have closed to the public. Your guide for the evening will escort you around these historically important and beautiful gardens.

Each guide will escort a maximum of 25 people.
Each exclusive NGS tour commences at 6.15pm and lasts until 8:00pm and tickets cost only £8. Each of the tours embraces points of seasonal gardening interest.

You have already missed the March, April and July exclusive evening tours, so why not book now for one of the remaining tours still available:
