National Gardens Festival Weekend
Take part in the largest ever national garden opening festival on 15-16 June 2013 and help raise £500,000 for nursing and caring charities
A wide variety of gardens across England and Wales will open their gates to the public during 15-16 June for our first ever National Gardens Festival Weekend. Set to be the largest garden visiting event in history, with 800 openings planned over the two days, the Festival aims to raise £500,000 for nursing and caring charities, including Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Carers Trust and Help the Hospices.
This unique festival of great gardens includes:
- Urban gardens
- Formal country gardens
- Designer gardens
- Herb gardens
- Village ‘group gardens’
- Artists’ gardens
- Celebrity gardens
and many more...
Some gardens may have special activities taking place, such as art and sculpture collections on display, or live music. Nearly all offer delicious teas and cakes. Some have evening openings, serving wine.
