Midlands

The Midlands Region is a diverse area stretching from the 'Home County' to Manchester & Liverpool, Cheshire, to the peace and quiet of rural Herefordshire. Whilst Worcestershire & Staffordshire have borders on the large city of Birmingham, Shropshire & Herefordshire are essentially very rural and sparsely populated.

Cheshire & Staffordshire, on their Eastern borders, have high & rugged country with much moorland, whilst the rest of the country is more flat.  Shropshire, Herefordshire & Worcestershire are softer Counties, with hilly countryside of peaceful and romantic tranquility.

Within the area there are many stately gardens - Biddulph, Arley, Spetchley, Hanbury, Berrington, Shrugborough, Hodnet, Wollerton & Tatton - to name a few. Because of the closeness of the great industrial cities of Birmingham, Manchester & Liverpool, there are plenty of suburban gardens of good quality.

On the whole the Region benefits from plenty of rain. Often too much in the Northern parts of the Region
