Description:2 contrasting areas, enclosed courtyard, with paved area and above ground tanks of water, more open area laid out within a formal framework comprising wide range of herbaceous perennials and shrubs tolerant of generally dry conditions. Area of naturalistic planting, wild flower meadows and recently sown exotic meadow

Further details:The garden at The Barn Serge Hill has been made since 1987 on an open, windy, gravelly hilltop. There are two contrasting areas, an enclosed Courtyard and a more open area laid out within a formal framework comprising a wide range of herbaceous perennials and shrubs tolerant of generally dry conditions. The garden is gradually developing, most especially areas of naturalistic herbaceous planting and seeding. The garden has featured in a number of articles in magazines and on Gardeners World.Particular plants well represented in the garden are Grasses, Geranium, Thalictrum, Salvia and Sedum. The garden is set in attractive open countryside, particularly surprising for its location 25 miles from Central London. It is surrounded by 5 acres of wild flower meadow
