Further details:The gardens date back to the 1850s when the mansion of Staunton Park was built. It was demolished in 1920 being too large for the owner at the time, and a smaller house was built in the Georgian style to the east of the original domestic quarters. The present garden contains a number of mature specimen trees - Wellingtonias, handkerchief tree, gingko bilobas, monkey puzzle tree, Liriodendron and some ancient oaks from a much earlier period. Other features are a rose garden, kitchen garden, mixed herbaceous borders, Victorian rock garden and lovely woodland lakeside walk with views
