Description:3-acre garden-cum-arboretum developed since 1970. Island beds of trees and shrubs, some underplanted with bulbs and herbaceous perennials, present a sequence of contrasting pictures and views through the seasons. There are no 'rooms' - rather long vistas lead the eye and feet, while the feeling of spaciousness is enhanced by glimpses caught between trunks and through gaps in the planting. Over 50 types of conifer provide the background to maples, rhododendrons, azaleas, dogwoods, eucryphias etc
